Immortality ring, the better looking version

This is way too cool. Originally, there is another Immortality Ring from Alex Chiu, but doesn't look as sophisticated as this Immortality Ring.

The product have 1 ring, separated into 2 parts...
it rotates, and does centrifugal kinesis to active immortality.
Seriously though. this ring doesn't grant immortality.
But a rotating ring made of great metal is just so neat! Look at the texture!!!
I would totally buy it if it have a little more feature that's really not possible, or at least, going to be very expensive.

1. Include a really small storage device.use blue tooth. It can include some really important files. Might be good for storing a private key or something.
2. Previous item requires energy... it's nice to get some solar power.
3. Someday... Credit Card in a ring...RFID would be nice... no more swiping. but this is way too futuristic.

I really really really want one of those ring. But it's too pricey($20 + $5 shipping + $5 personal carving) for me xD. If I get one... I would get the carvings too..
and.. I really wish I can chose the numbers, rings are numbered from 1-1000, there are only 1000 rings exist... xD...

Maybe on my birthday... I will give myself a nice treat.

Hmmm...?

So, do you get any kickback (monetarily) if I buy one simply because of your blog post? :) The design looks cool, and people often spin their rings on their fingers (as I do), and the fact that it's machined perfectly is intriguing. For $25, I wouldn't mind buying one, and probably will.

I don't get kickbacks :) but

I don't get kickbacks :) but I do like to know how you like the ring after you bought it.
Each ring have a id, I asked the company, they told me you can send them a email request what ID you want.
here are some ids I would be interested in
1(unit)
2(oddest prime)
3(first odd prime)
4(2*2 = 2^2)
5(twin prime with both 3 and 7)
6(1st perfect number)
7(considered lucky...and 7up... and it's a happy number, only dimension other than 3 where vector cross product can be defined)
8(E8, 2^3, first prime to the 2nd prime power...)
9(the result of the first exponential factorial doesn't equal to itself.)
28(perfect number+ largest order of sociable numbers)
69(innuendo, btw... in case you don't know...and 9 is the binary complement of 6, now that's a math sexual innuendo...)
300(the movie)
691(1st irregular prime)
163
42
912(my birthday, to bad if you are born with 4 digit representation of your birthday...)
667(the smallest integer larger than the number of the beast... owned, there are infinite many more)
999(0.999.....anyone who says 0.999999 does not equal to 1 using the number representing system we are having now... do some research)

Whoops... I need to

Whoops... I need to remember to use your "Reply" link in here. Sorry! :)

np. most people don't use

np. most people don't use it, I just do to keep things organized

Or...

If you believe the chainmail-esque rumor about the number "Barney". 666 :)

I think I'll just let my ID be automatically assigned. Any number I would have chosen would be taken by now (12 or 21).

k xD good luck on that.

k xD
good luck on that.

Well, I got the ring. It's

Well, I got the ring. It's number 101. Unfortunately, it's not the correct size I ordered (or if it is, their sizing is off, I have small fingers as it is and ordered a size 7 ring, this is more like a 6, it fits on my pinky luckily). I'll just buy one of the titanium rings I was going to buy before anyway to put on the finger I had intended... Otherwise, it's kinda fun to spin, and although it is somewhat a cheap construction, it's pretty much what I expected for $20 that had moving parts. I'm satisfied with the ring itself, just wish I got the right size.

they messed up...that

they messed up...that sucks
How does it spin? automatically?

LoL!

Brendon Kozlowski's picture

What?! Heck no! There's no gyroscopic motion. :) It's only $20 and the size of a ring! You spin it yourself. As stupid as that sounds though, spinning a ring that is a simple band is a rather common thing for people to do, so it's not all that weird or out of the question for a manual maneuver. In fact, I can't stop spinning the damned thing now that it's loosened up a little bit. It chimes a little as I type (due to the small crevice between the two parts) and reminds me it's there, making me want to spin it. AGH! :D There it goes again.....

...ok, done spinning.

make me want one

Mgccl's picture

make me want one too...
make sure you are spinning the right direction, because the wrong direction have opposite effect.
