Immortality
The Perfect Organism
Posted May 10th, 2008 by MgcclI define a perfect organism is the one can fit into almost any environment.
I believe a perfect organism is an organism have perfect control of itself and smart enough to use that ability.
I wish there are ways to improve the human body into a perfect organism.
With the invention on DNA & Protein computers and research on cloning and stem cells, I see some really cool stuff going to happen some day.
I imagined there are some virus infect each of my cell a certain DNA. Then the ribosomes work on the DNA create computers and microscopic machines. Soon it can establish connection with other cells. Each cell become it's own computational machine.
The the cells start to organize themselves and improving it's own internal structure, make it capable of doing many movements easily and fast. Like stretch the cell, emit certain amount of carbon, store w/e material.
If there is a huge computation required to be done. I can be spread out to each cell in the body and do it in parallel, even in my sleep.
Cells can even change their specific functions according to it's need.
The brain can control each single cell of the body directly. There is ways to search for specific cells. One can even tag their favorite cells so they can access it easily. For example, I store a copy of wikipedia in one of my cell. Some movies in another cell.
I can change my own shape!
Also if I only have part of my body, I can grow them back. But implant a cloned body part would be faster. Body parts can be cloned so if part of it loose function, a new one can be replaced. With the already powerful biomechnical cells, it will recognize the new body part and incorporate it back into the body in few minutes. Pro human cloning!
Humm, then I can arrange my cells so fast, if someone shoots me, I will create a hole in my body to let it go though. Or grow a exoskeleton... and digest it when I don't need it.
There will be both biomechanical cells and specialized non-bio cells for specific purposes, like there can be cells store specific chemicals. Those non-bio cells can be constructed by the small molecular machines.
I can use almost anything as energy. I can use the chemicals stored inside of me digest anything, and filter out the garbage, and store the garbage in the specialized skin cells that can falls easily. Or I can carry the garbage around, who knows when it will be useful.
It is all possible, but extremely complex. I believe one day some organisms will evolve to that stage, and become immortal.
Look at the Human sociality, doesn't it look like what I'm talking about? Humans are just like cells, they can make a lot of changes to the surroundings. When some part of the human sociality is lost, new ones can be generated. They can face devastating impacts, and knows how to counter against some of them.
Except, humans, can not be controlled easily.
Maybe when organism going into that huge complexity, part of them are not controllable.

Immortality ring, the better looking version
Posted January 18th, 2008 by MgcclThis is way too cool. Originally, there is another Immortality Ring from Alex Chiu, but doesn't look as sophisticated as this Immortality Ring.
The product have 1 ring, separated into 2 parts...
it rotates, and does centrifugal kinesis to active immortality.
Seriously though. this ring doesn't grant immortality.
But a rotating ring made of great metal is just so neat! Look at the texture!!!
I would totally buy it if it have a little more feature that's really not possible, or at least, going to be very expensive.
1. Include a really small storage device.use blue tooth. It can include some really important files. Might be good for storing a private key or something.
2. Previous item requires energy... it's nice to get some solar power.
3. Someday... Credit Card in a ring...RFID would be nice... no more swiping. but this is way too futuristic.
I really really really want one of those ring. But it's too pricey($20 + $5 shipping + $5 personal carving) for me xD. If I get one... I would get the carvings too..
and.. I really wish I can chose the numbers, rings are numbered from 1-1000, there are only 1000 rings exist... xD...
Maybe on my birthday... I will give myself a nice treat.
